After an amazing submission of some 53 plus scripts for assessment the Wagga School of Arts 2016 Playfest are presenting 10 of the best ten minute plays selected from this large number of writer’s works.

Since 1954 Wagga School of Arts have been running a Play Festival and the Ten Minute genre has been adopted as a great vehicle for new writers, directors and actors to open the door of experience via various aspects of writing and dramatic content.

The Ten minute play is a challenge for director’s and cast, but an enjoyable experience for audiences, as it provides a wide range of entertainment. This year’s selection offers comedy, love stories, space invaders, family issues that are both comical and dramatic, plus general absurdity that is just plain good fun.

One of the highlights of The Ten X 10 Playfest is it showcases the many talents of regional and interstate writers, local actors and directors creating live theatre in ten minute packages.

The Wagga Commercial Club has generously offered the Nathan Room as the venue for the Playfest, which enables the annual event to have a performance space in the city.  Riverina Water, a loyal and dedicated major sponsor with naming rights for Ten X 10 Playfest, make the continuation of this successful annual Festival a much looked forward to event on the Community Calendar in Wagga Wagga.
