BACK TO THE CIVIC THEATRE!!

The 50th anniversary of the opening of the Wagga Civic Theatre will be celebrated late this month.
A week of special performances is planned leading up to the actual date of the anniversary, 29 June.
The Wagga School of Arts will be a proud participant in the celebrations, with a performance in the Civic Theatre on Thursday 27 June at 7.30 pm – Ten x 10 PlayFest Revisited featuring the 10 plays seen in the recent performances.
We are hoping to stage the performance in conjunction with a reunion of  past members, many of whom have performed on the Civic Theatre stage in the years gone by.
We have had a strong association with the Civic Theatre since its  inception.  The group was a major contributor towards the funding for the building of the theatre and had the honour of presenting the first show in the Civic Theatre – the colourful comedy  The Teahouse of the August Moon.
Over many years, members of  the School of Arts presented a wide range of shows on the Civic Theatre stage including musicals, Shakespeare, drama and comedy and the annual Drama Festival.
The SoACT Committee hopes old and new members will join to support our 27 June program, once again treading the boards of the Civic Theatre.
